What are the Greek Honeymoon office operating hours?
The hours of operation are Monday thru Friday from 9:00am to 5:30pm and on Saturday from 9:00am to 12:00noon. We do however answer calls after hours and on weekends.
What forms of payment do you accept?
Greek Honeymoon accepts American Express, Visa, and MasterCard. In addition checks and bank wire transfers are also accepted. Cash payments can be made in person at our Douglaston, New York office only.
Can I book my trip on the Greek Honeymoon website, or must I do it over the phone?
Greek Honeymoon offers online bookings for some travel services, such as our Instant Deals. All other services can be booked by Contacting us by phone or email and a representative will promptly get back to you.
Do you offer custom trips to all Greece Destinations?
Yes we offer custom trips to the Greek Islands and the mainland of Greece as well as pre-packaged trips to the Islands of Greece. In addition we offer 7 days Cruises and custom honeymoons with 3 or 4 day Cruises.
When is the best time of year to visit the Greek islands?
June through September is considered the high season, however May and October are ideal months to travel to the Greek isles offering both ideal climate and limited crowds.
What modes of transportation are used for transfers between the Greek Islands?
We use modern high-speed boats or hydrofoils, and when they are not available we use large/comfortable commercial ferries for transfers between the islands. Travelling by sea allows one to experience the true art of island hopping, but for those who prefer air travel we can arrange via modern jets that fly non stop. In most cases it is necessary to provide Greek Inter Island transportation by both Sea and Air for the most seamless and convenient connections.
What accommodations are used in your honeymoons to Greece?
We never use a hotel below the Deluxe Category 3* Level. All of the properties we use are hand selected based on quality, service and personal relationships to insure the satisfaction of our honeymooners. All of our honeymoon services in Greece offer Sea view rooms.
Is airfare included in your honeymoon services to Greece?
No they do not include international airfare, however we can book your airfare if you require assistance via our IATAN Certified Air Department. We give you the choice to decide if you wish airfare included.

Can I rent a mobile phone while in Greece?
Yes you can. You will be able to find a telecommunications kiosk in Athens Airport where you can either rent or purchase a phone for the duration of your trip.
Will my mobile phone work while I’m in Greece?
Greece uses a GSM network and if your cell phone is compatible you should be able to use your mobile phone while in Greece. However, roaming & data charges will apply and we strongly recommend that you contact your mobile phone operator prior to departing on your trip to discuss both service & rates, which can be very expensive.
Is English widely spoken in Greece?
English is spoken throughout the major tourist areas. All the Greek Honeymoon staff in Athens are fluent in English and all Greek Honeymoon hotel representatives are fluent in English. Most road signs and road names throughout Greece are also displayed in English.
Should I rent a car in Greece?
Car rentals are only required on large islands such as Crete, Rhodes & Corfu and on the mainland if you plan on touring over an extended period of time. Generally taxis or public transportation are easier & less expensive to use.
Should I rent a small scooter or motorbike on the Greek Islands?
Yes, they are a lot of fun and efficient transportation, however we strongly recommend that you rent such a vehicle only if you are experienced. The narrow Greek Island Roads can be precarious, especially after sunset.
Is a VISA required to visit Greece?
US Citizens are not required to apply for a visit when visiting Greece unless they plan on staying in excess of (3) months. All other nationals should check with the Greek Embassy or their consulate.
What is the permitted weight of luggage for domestic flights?
The weight allowance per person for luggage is 44 pounds (20 kg). For carry-on luggage, the permitted weight is 13.2 pounds and the dimensions must not exceed 22 inches length Χ 16inches height Χ 8 inches. For any extra weight the cost is 2 euro per kg or 2.2 pounds. Please always check with your air carrier prior to travelling to confirm weight and size limits.
What is the best way to call home while in Greece?
While in Greece try to make as few calls as possible and enjoy your stay, however if you must call, calling from your hotel will be the most expensive option. Your mobile rates will be a bit cheaper but still very expensive. You can opt to rent a mobile but that can be a hassle too. Greece has many public phones that allow one to make fairly inexpensive calls home using calling cards sold at KIOSKS and Grocery Stores. The Internet may be your best option utilizing Skype or Google for instance. Your on your honeymoon, do you really want to make that many calls?
How many islands can I Visit over my stay?
It’s recommended that you limit your Greek Island choices so that you can truly enjoy your trip instead of trying to see too many making you feel like you are on the run through out your stay. The rule of thumb is more days, more islands so that it flows nice and smooth, but generally speaking 2 to 3 maximum plus a night or two in Athens works out perfectly.
What is the best Greek island that I should definitely visit over my Greek Island hopping trip?
It all depends on whom you ask and what your likes/dislikes are. Santorini & Mykonos are the world famous islands, but there are literally hundreds of other choices to select from. Do your research and we can help you decide based on our experience of the Greek Islands.
Is my US driver’s license valid in Greece when renting a vehicle?
Your valid U.S. license will be accepted as long as you carry an international drivers license as well. Credit cards and Travelers Checks are also widely accepted in major tourist areas, however cash is always king.
What should I pack for travel to the Greek islands?
The Rule of thumb to remember is that LESS IS MORE when it comes to packing. You can get by with khakis, light denims, linens, a few pair of shorts and tee shirts for the most part. A light windbreaker, or sweaters may come in handy for the evenings when the sun drops since there is almost no humidity in Greece during the summer months. As far as shoes, leave all the heels at home aside for a pair or two for those special occasions and make sure to bring sneakers, sandals, flip-flops and a pair of comfortable walking shoes. Depending on the islands you will visit, a nice outfit or two will come in handy for those upscale evenings when sipping a cocktail or having a romantic dinner overlooking the sea.In addition remember to bring multiple bathing suits, a lot of memory cards for photos and video, a electricity converter if need for your electronics and an adapter for your electronics as well. On your packing list should also be sunglasses, sun protection and a Swiss knife that can come in handy when you least expect it! Cruising offers both the most cost and time efficient manner to visit the Greek Islands, however you will not truly get a chance to stay on one particular island for an extended period of time so it is recommended to build a 3, 4 or 7 day cruise into a land Greek Island hopping trip to get the best of both worlds.
Is Internet access available on the Greek Islands?
Yes. Nowadays, even the smallest and most difficult to reach island will at least have an Internet café for you to get on the net. If it is imperative that you always have Internet access we can book hotels for you that feature Internet access.
